Q:
How long does Snapchat take to permanently delete an account?
Is there a waiting period before my account is fully removed?

A Snapchat account does not get deleted immediately.
When you request deletion:
- First 30 days: Your account is deactivated (you can still log in and restore it).
- After 30 days: Snapchat begins the permanent deletion process.
- Full deletion time: In most regions, it is fully removed shortly after this 30-day window.
However, in some regions like India, Snapchat may take up to 180 days after deactivation to fully and permanently delete the account due to local data rules.
During this waiting period:
- Your profile becomes invisible to others
- Your data is scheduled for deletion from servers
- Logging in can cancel the deletion process
In short:
Snapchat takes about 30 days (or up to 180 days in India) to permanently delete an account after you request it.

Snapchat permanently deletes an account 30 days after deactivation if you don’t log in during that period, removing all your data, Snaps, Chats, and friends.
